In a similar situation myself. Looking into getting an 06 550i. Any common defects/issues I should look out for?

And for the 550s with sport package low profile rims they tend to have suspension problems cause of the heavy rims. I had an 08 550i fully loaded and around 45k miles it started to have slight problems

My '07 530Xi wagon has been great, but only up to 48k miles so far. I would be very interested to see the service history of any BMW I was looking at. The miles are fine if it has been well treated, but risky if not. It does seem to have had its 100k major service done on time, which would have been a big bill at dealer. Check out any history of transmission fluid servicing - That is one of those things that is really good to have up to date as you get into higher miles. On the whole, condition is everything, not age, and I would always get a good PPI done, regardless of the records and your own inpressions (assuming it seems to be a geat car in the first place)
