How to Check/Update N55 JB3 Firmware?
Got my JB3 from one of the other forum guys a few months back and I've never gotten around to making sure it has up to date firmware.
Not really done anything like this before so wanted to check with the experts before I start fecking with the thing... I have the USB Cable, Software, and latest Firmware but this is what I need to know: 1. Do I need to disconnect it from the car before connecting it to the laptop? 2. If I leave it on the car, do I have to do anything prior to connection (like lock it and wait 10 minutes for the DME to go to sleep)? 3. If I need to take it off the car, do I need to do anything before unplugging it (like above)? 4. If I need to take it off the car, is there anything I need to do before RE-connecting it? 5. Are there any settings I need to check/change after upgrading the firmware? 6. Are there any settings I should NOT mess with? Thanks! |

Thanks Ian... I knew someone helpful would come along sooner or later... Just needed to keep the thread on the first page so someone like you would see it

Hi Angus, if you ever have any problems send Terry and email and he will always get back to you.
I don't think he is a user on this forum. Otherwise, join n54tech.com but he still prefers email communication. |

Update done.
It was a firmware from May 2010... now running the 03/2011 firmware. The boost was also set to +2.75 so I upped it to +3.50 (The way Terry sets it from stock). It also updated the LagFix from 0 to 60 all by itself... Hope it makes a difference... |
