Remove paint scuffs - help
At a recent track event my pop-up canopy blew over and rubbed against my car. You can see it transfered some paint to my fender edge and a line up higher on the fender. There does not appear to be any dents or scratches, just the paint scuff. What do you guys recommend to remove the scuff?

If its just "paint transfer", a chemical polish(non abrasive), like Klasse All In One is your best start. First claybar, then apply the KAIO. You'll need to re-seal

I'll go along with Anton. You want to try the least aggressive approach first, no matter what.
If the above doesn't work, it will be time to polish out. If you don't own a polisher, you can try it by hand, using a 3-4 inch polishing pad, and something like Meguiar's M200. Others may chime in with better hand polishing advice. I'm fortunate to have a random orbital polisher, and various pads and polishes. Haven't hand polished in a while. It does looks like a paint transfer, and not any scratches. Hopefully, that is true. Good Luck! |
