mileage inconsistency on carfax

So the dealer was no help maybe someone can help here..

I have decided to check my carfax and I have seen that there is a mileage inconsistency on my car. I remember the date of service when I brought my car in, and I brought BOTH keys with me. I decided to give the service writer my spare key (because I did not wants to take mine off them stupid key rings) that I haven't been using. After the service writer put my key in to the machine to check what needs to be serviced he ask "is this your spare key?" I said " yes, is that a problem?" his response " no, it just showing less miles on this key then what you had last time you were in" .. so I wasnt thinking they were going to submit that server to carfax with the WRONG freaking miles......

So earlier to day I called the service department and asked for someone who could help me with this issue and post the correct information on carfax, and of course I got the I will talk to the service manager and give you a call back. I get a quick call back within 10 minutes and the person said that it should not be an issue, it is typical of BMW's to have miles off because of the two key thing. They also said that it should be fine because there are other services I have that have the correct mileage. The last thing she said is that they cant fix it because the work order is closed....


Is that true? if not can someone help me with who I can get this fixed on my car fax

Yes its true they cant change the miles since the RO is closed..

Yes its true, it happens all the time..

What is the mileage discrepenacy????

You can call CARFAX and have them correct it.
