Guys with Meth

Quick question with all you peeps that have meth already.

Do you guys actually get your car insured stating you have meth? Or is it more the case of if something happens hopefully your meth system will not void insurance?

I suspect the answer would be the same as for those folk who have

AR DP's, Proceed, etc

Well with DP, tune, FMIC and intake there are insurance company that would insured that, though meth is a different story no?

No I don't see any difference. I would be willing to bet that no one on here has informed their insurance co of EVERYTHING they have modded on their car.

Well from what I read on other forum (e46fanatics) a guy has his turboed m3 insured with all the mods that he has done and the insurance company is fine with that.

I have read on other forums (antilag) when it comes to meth insurance company don't like that...

So obviously there is a different?

ps. in case you ask these examples are all in Australia.

Meth........ What Meth....... I dont know what your talking about.

Don't tell your insurance that you have meth (I don't). If you do you may as well tell them your running Nitrous also. Not much different in my book.

Methanol Injection and Automotive Insurance just don't mix, however an N54 with water/meth injection is pure pleasure. You will love the added power of meth.
You really are bad Rai. Jeef's right. Would you like me to order you a set of RB Turbo's??

Haha well I just upgraded to procede rev 3 so I am toying the idea of meth instead of FMIC ( still haven't got it )

hahaha I think I am good without RB turbos for now - changing turbos would mean I need upgraded gearbox

The guy with the turbo m3 has: a) had the car for over 6-7 years, b) been through supercharger setups prior to the turbo, c) has his own performance workshop...

So it makes sense for him to insure a completely overhauled car for everything he's done to it. On a standard car with a few mods though... I'm not too sure?

Would you tell your insurance company you've lowered your car and now the lowest point is under 100mm? Maybe not eh

Either meth or FMIC your gonna need one of them come summer.
Agree. Having the RB's and an upgraded gearbox would cost around the $10k mark.

We do get that alot Stu. We are happy campers. Our tuner Mr Burger offers his products at very reasonable prices not to mention what a top bloke he is. I've been there and seen him at work and where it all takes place. He's not a money hungry kind of guy.

I saw a car at a dealer's that had been very badly damaged by a meth fire. The engine bay and into the car's interior. It was a write off and not covered by insurance due to being meth. I won't mention the dealer or the car so as not to offend the owner.

Anyone know what may have happened?

Rob Beck turbo upgrade is not worth it straight up.
Methanol injection is a great bang for buck.

I know I know - just can't decide especially when you hear stories below

The reward of power from meth is sooo great but so is the risk involves...

I have to say I keep a close eye on my meth setup. Regular checks of the line, connections and pump. It may be almost bulletproof but sure isn't fire proof. I log my runs all the time to ensure the meth is flowing as it should without air getting into the line.

Just make sure you're running some water in your methanol tank.

Definitely would be running either a 50/50 or 75/25 mix.
