Motor Trend Best Drivers Car Competition

Anyone read this yet? 11 cars pitted against each other in...

1) 0-60mph
2) 1/4 mile
3) track performance @ Laguna Seca

Cars were driven by Randy Pobst and Justin Bell (both very accomplished race car drivers).

The cars included were the Corvette ZO6 with ZO7 package, Lotus Evora, Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi R8 GT, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman R, Nissan GT-R, Ford Mustang Boss 302, Lexus LF-A, Mercedes SLS AMG, and BMW 1M Coupe.

The interesting thing is that they really hated the 1M Coupe. Randy Pobst, who rarely says anything bad, said that he has never hated a car, but he really really hates the 1M. (primarily due to poor handling, said it understeers far more than the M3 which already understeers too much). I think that's the first really bad review I've seen of the 1M Coupe. On the other hand, they loved the Cayman R, even more so than the GT3 RS.

The other interesting thing was the comment made by the Ferrari engineer who said that in Maranello, they have a super computer that can predict the performance of a car based on all of it's statistics, and based on the computer's calculations they cannot for the life of them figure out how the GT-R can be so fast. Funny. Regardless, the 458 is truly amazing, and was crowned king.

This is just Italian for "the Nurburgring GT-R was a ringer".

Yes, I believe when the ring time for the GT-R first came out the guys over at M3post.com did some computer simulations with cartest and concluded the test car was substantially underrated.
