M1 - how many of each color produced?

I'm new to the forum, recently had a 2008 AW E60 M5, now I have a jet black 2011 X5d and am currently looking at a few M1s. There is a Valencia Orange and Metallic black available to me and I might be able to get AW if I try hard enough. I know everyone has their personal favorites but does anyone know how many of each color were produced? Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but it seems like Black and Orange are the most popular...white the least. That's the impression I get from the polls, seeing all the ED writeups and what is coming out around me. It would be great to know for sure though.

WOW! THREE available to you. You are one lucky dude. Maybe pass on the leads to this forum to help the other members looking for allocation??

Car is a 1M, not M1.

If you check the "sticky" Metak (MrMetak2you) has graciously started a registry - you might start there to get a feel for how many of each color produced.

Remember: pass on the leads to this forum, you will be forever a hero.

M1 sometimes I question the validity of what some of these people say, specially when they don't even know the name of the car they are "looking at".

I would say white is the most popular followed by black and orange last. Over here in Europe. Very few orange.

I toured Leipzig twice in Sept. Both times VO was the color you saw most on the production line. Followed by AW and then BSM. I asked our tour guide about which color is most popular... he seemed to think most were VO, then a few AW, and the BSM was the rarest color. That kind of surprised me bc Germans really love black colored cars. And I thought so too the rest of the world.

I guess in a few months we will know all the specs (production) numbers for the 1M.

Great point, there is probably a difference between US and Europe. Around here Orange seems most popular.

Refer to metak's 1M registry. There's also a poll that you can search for. BSM is definitely the most rare according to both (the registry and the poll).

Just call it an "M." That's what the boot indicates. Just plain simple M.

I see at least 2 leads listed on this forum alone almost everyday. The cars are out there you just have to bite the bullet and pay a small premium.

Actually that is the long name, the abbreviated name is the 1M...I actually own the car, and I certainly know what it's called, Mr. M1
