Another newbie intro...

Hey everyone, was looking around for a new car the past few weeks. Obviously the 135i was one of many used cars I was looking at. Just happened to find out a dealer had a 2011 135i with 9k miles. 6 speed manual, doesn't have too many options it seems, just what i need/want.

Went to look at her today and made the purchase. So far, I love this car, just a little funky issue with the radio amp (?) overheating for a few minutes. Also has the infamous issue with a broken 3rd brake light on the trunk. Will take her to the local BMW dealer on Friday and see if they will warranty it. Saw the brake light issue on here after a quick search.

Awesome looking brakes, thought in the pics it had the tiny ones, but once in person, was extremely happy although this car will most likely not see a road course. I save that for my race bike...running a full season in the MRA for 2012 and have most of my sponsors lined up already.

My background in cars - s2000 turbo, 04 sti, 03 svt cobra, 04 g35 coupe, 06 evo IX, 08 EVO X (current), Trailblazer SS (current) and now the 135i.

Just a phone pic for now.

Here are some past vehicles:

Had a question, tried searching but maybe searched incorrect phrases.....

The brakes, does this mean the car has a sport package or are the brakes standard equipment? Also the wheels, I don't think they are BMW OEM wheels, they look like knock off wheels maybe made by Breyton? What do you guys think?

Brakes are standard equipment on the 135i. You win in that department. However you dont have the sport pack nor the M-pack from your pic.
Last....the wheels are not Stock/OEM.

Sweet ride. Congratulations. I don't understand how anyone can say the 1-Series isn't a gorgeous car, especially the 135i.

Great looking car Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the forum! And that's a very diverse family of cars you're coming from!

By the looks of it you do not have the sport package. The chrome exterior trim around the windows gives it away. However, you have the fully upgraded brakes and suspension. Sport pack / m sport pack on the 135i models is pretty much just cosmetic, plus you get great seats. The stock seats aren't too bad or anything though.

The wheels are definitely aftermarket but that doesn't mean they're "knockoffs" by any means! OEM BMW rims are great, but most of my favorite styles are aftermarket. Those LOOK like bretyons, but from what I recall, I don't think breyton makes any rim with a lip or a time attack stripe on the outer edge that looks like that. Hard to tell from the one picture though, since I'm on a phone. They still look great on the car!

Thanks for the information, good to know about the suspension and brakes, will look into spec/details on them later. This was a night before decision that I made once I found the car. I mainly purchased the 135i since I found out a little about the motor/setup two weeks after I had purchased my EVO X back in 08'.

Not planning to do too much to the car for at least another year. 2012 race season on the bike will take up too much time and money so this car will probably only see bpu and some wheels after the snow passes this winter.

Tons of researching to do since I have never owned anything but japanese imports and a couple of domestics.

Yeah I will miss my evo x in a sentimental way just like my previous cars, but the 135i for me is working out very well in just a couple of days.

Crazy haha, I just found out the n55 11' 135i has a twinscroll single turbo? Didn't even realize this, thought it was a twin turbo. This could be a good thing for me in the future.

Yeah to be honest, I wasn't a fan of the way the car looked before. I bought it due to being a small'ish car with a good motor setup. But having it for 4 days now, I am starting to appreciate it a little more.
