RS3s vs Star-Specs

For awhile I've solely had my mind on Hankook RS3s, I've opened my mind back to Star-Specs just before I was going to place an order

These tires are going to be purely for autocross. Mounted before and taken off afterwards.

The treadwear on the RS3s are lower (140 versus 200). But is that a true estimate for their grip level? I'm more concerned about heat cycling and how their performance is in the wet versus dry.

Anything else I should look at? I'm going to be running 235/265

Thanks

Get RS3's since they're cheaper and better in the dry.

This is coming from an ex-Star Spec user

I was in the same boat as you last month. FWIW, treadwear from different manufacturers are not apples to apples but I think it is safe to assume that Star Specs will still last longer. I've read the Star Specs get a little greasy after 20 mins or so but since this is for auto-x, I don't think you'll have any problems with that. For pure performance, I agree go with the RS3's especially because it's cheaper. But if you plan on using these for daily driving, go with Star Specs because they'll last longer and offer better wet performance.

These are going to be mounted prior and taken off afterwards...no DD.

Looks like RS3s are the right choice
