XXR 521 18x8.5 et 30 18x10 et 25 M Coupe

Looking at the XXR 521 wheels in 18x8.5 et 30 front and 18x10 et 25 rear for my M Coupe and was wondering if you think they will clear. Im worried the front may be too aggressive. 18x8.5 et 25 front would definitely be way too aggressive right?

they won't be too aggressive if you run a little camber. I've been running 18x9.5 et22 up front with 255/35 tires and -2 degree camber. It clears and it doesn't rub at all. So you still have plenty of space to play with

anybody know if I can use my stock lug bolts with these wheels? It says on the website that it needs tuner lugs but we use lug bolts :/ Also would like to know if I could use my stock center caps. I hate the XXR center caps

The need for tuner lugs might be due to the clearance (or the lack thereof) in the XXR's lug area. I once sold a set of XXRs for my friend's Japanese import, and I remember the need for tuner lugs due to this exact issue.

You may need to look into doing a stud conversion, and buying a set of tuner (thin) style lugs in order to run those XXRs.

I also do not think your stock center caps will fit the XXRs. The center bores are not the same size from what I can recall.

Furthermore, if you track your car a lot at all, I would recommend to stay away from XXRs, as they're not all that strong of a wheel. They could potentially warp under hard stress and high-temperature conditions.

In any case, g'luck!

Yeah they actually make tuner lug bolts also. I think I am going to pass on the XXR's though and look into maybe the Linea Corse LeMans. What all options are out there as far as LM or VSXX replicas out there? I know i know get the real thing. I just cant justify spending 3-4000 on a set of wheels.

Maybe look into Vortex Tuning's line of wheels? They recently came out with LM and RGR reps. Those should be plenty strong, even for track use.

Spending $3k+ on wheels definitely isn't for everyone. In fact, for most people, there really is no need, even if money weren't a factor. There is the saying that you get what you pay for, but IMHO that's only a guideline and it's not in any way a "say all, is all" kinda thing

I say go for whatever affordable (but still known for being decently strong) set of wheels you like. All's good! G'luck man

Oh they don't offer 18" sizing? Hmm interesting. Did not know.

How 'bout Velocity Motoring wheels? I know VM's been around for a while. Shouldn't be bad wheels either.

Orrrr you could get in the GB for the APEX Arc-8's. That's like a forum favorite
They're cheap, they're strong, they're lightweight, AND they look great. Win-win-win-win!
