Car arrived Yesterday & Deealer Screwed up my Order!
Dealer screwed my order up. Car came in with everything except for DCT. I would gladly get it stick, but my wife will drive it occasionally and she does not like stick. (I know some will say get it anyways since it will be occassional driving for her...but my years of marriage have taught me that Happy Wife = Happy Life). They are trying figure out what they are going to do to get another one built, but since the end of production of the E90 M3 is ending next month all production slots are taken. Waiting to hear what they will do. They are trying to get one from the production line.
More wait in the horizon!!!!!!!!! |

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. I had to order twice as well. My first order sat at the port of exit for 6 weeks due to undisclosed damage. And, I agree, a happy wife is definitely a happy life.

That is very frustrating! Forum member geneatals had the same problem and the dealer had to order another car... Could be tough getting another sedan at this point. Good luck!!

wow, sorry man. it's one thing to order the wrong type of dash trim, but the transmission type is a pretty big mistake.
if the dealer can't get another production slot, have them locate a car in the US and do a dealer swap. |

I feel your pain! I ordered my (first ) E90 M3 on February 21st. As production trucked along, I received a screen shot from my CA depicting that my new car was "At port of Exit". I noticed right away that the colour combo was inaccurate. The car finally arrived in early June, and lo and behold, the dealership's inventory coordinator had inputted the wrong order.
Needless to say, the GM of the dealership was terribly embarassed and offered a discount on the incoming car. I declined, asserting that I was going to cross shop the competition. Inevitably, they buckled, and gave me a discount on a new order that I simply couldn't turn down. The new car landed last week, and I should have it delievered in the next day or two. Don't settle. Get what you want! I'm sure there are a few more production slots lett out there somewhere, and one of them has your name on it! Asif |

Ok...so here is the story. They cannot get another production slot or pull one from production because none have Jet Black. They offered an alpine white that is at port with my same specs or one exactly like mine but with an extra 2k in options that is sitting in another dealer. I said I would take the one that the other dealer had as long as i get the same deal. This is not much to ask for a screw up from their part. The GM just called me that they couldn't give me the same price because bla bla bla more options 2k more the numbers don't add.
He said he will call me back and see what they can do. I have been very patient and really want the car, but i will not pay for their mistake. I have reach a point that if they cannot get me that car or build me another then that is it. I do not get an M3 or any other BMW for that matter and jump ship. They have done nothing but played with me from the beginning with the price and now this! |

No bueno!! What are the extra options? Doesn't really matter, unless you are getting the car near invoice, they should make it right and give a STEEP discount (if not free!) on the unwanted options...

I could understand perhaps -if I try very hard- for example the 6NR ($250) missing from the order sheet, but not a $2900 option. And on top of that on a vehicle that it is within a couple of months to EOP. Really? This is the kind of situation when a dealer should just do the right thing, eat the $2000 in getting you that similar car and fix their incompetence in allowing this absurdity to happen. |

Technically it's possible to do the swap....but I wouldn't recommend it as it's the mechanical parts under the car as well as interior parts (odometer, steering wheel, ...) as well as coding the software, ....

If the dealer got me my car with DCT instead of 6MT I'd pop a cap in his ass!

I dont understand how this happened. When I ordered mine they provided me with the printout of what options were ordered and it included the production number. Did they not provide yo such a document to see if it was correct?

Actually, my purchase order sheet which I just signed shows everything except the transmission choice. There is a line that says "Order Specifications (Please verify transmission type with the customer)".
The price should make this obvious though. Did they charge you for the DCT? If not, then the $2K more is reasonable.... although I still feel like they should eat it because they screwed you on your color choice. If they did charge you then that is BS and you should call them on that. They owe YOU money. I would ask for a MSRP breakdown of all options on your car. |

What options did you have? I know there are several board members with allocations that haven't gone into production yet. Might be able to do a swap if they are similar enough. You'd have to wait a little longer to get your car though.

Sorry to say I will not be purchasing a BMW now or ever. It is sad to say after years of wanting to get the M3. I have owned BMW's for several years now, and BMW NA cannot do anything about this, not to mention the delaer that says...We can try and get you a white one instead of black with similar option at same price or one like yours same color with an extra 2k in options, but i will cost you 80 more a month. Come to show that they or BMW really does not stand behind a former loyal customer.
