For those that are leasing 2012s...

Were you able to order your M3 yet? After saying he\'d have the MF and residuals in August my dealer is saying that he won\'t have them until Sep now. Also, he said that they won\'t get their allocation until they get the lease rates.

They should be able to rate lock you with August rates, and you can stay with those rates, or change to September rates if they are better.

What are the lease rates for the M3? I'm assuming $1300 or so? I read somewhere on this forum a guy is leasing his e93 m3 for $550/month!

Compare apples to apples. Yes, there are some who have leased their M3's for less than $600 a month; however (and this is a BIG however), there are many factors to consider.

From about Nov '10 to around Apr of '11 BMW was offering a really spectactular lease program for the M3 Convertible. That program is no more and the rates have gone up. Also, some of these guys got cars that basically had few or no options. Lots also did European Delivery and the price of the car was highly discounted. Also tax rates (and how they apply to leases) vary from state to state. Combine all of those factors with a dealer willing to do a "mini deal" (low profit margin) and the car could be had for less than a 335iS. I took advantage of the great lease program, European Delivery, BMW's Loyalty rates (which discount the already spectactual lease program) and I had a great SA (Greg Poland). My payments are $650/month but the car is loaded except for DCT which I didn't want.

Can you do that now with an M3? Nope, the lease program just isn't as good. Can you do ED and find a good dealer? Sure, and that'll certainly lower your cost but you aren't going to do quite as well unless BMW offers another lease program similar to the one they had for the convertible. Will they do that? It's impossible to predict but I doubt it, at least I doubt it until they get close to releasing the current M3's replacement then they might be wanting to move the last of the current production.

No, the dealer cannot use the August rates for any 2012 M3 lease or financing. Those rates are only applicable to MY2011 M3.

Thanks for the clarification there. Can we make a reasonable assumption that the 2012 lease rates for September will be relatively the same as the 2011 rates for August? Or is there a chance that they could be substantially higher/lower? Only reason I ask is because I'm debating on whether I should order the car now without the rates or wait until September to order.

My guess is that they will remain the same, but that's my guess.

I was able to order mine through Ryan @ Steve Thomas. They can give you the car's price, you just won't know the lease info until Sept.

Yep the deals were amazing on the M3 conv, I am going to be placing my M3 Individual Conv on swapalease this weekend. I got a fully loaded car with Platinum Individual Interior + Piano wood trim + texas taxes for $899 / month. Great car but probably moving on to a cayenne S or turbo.

'12 was about 70 bucks more/month for me.
Here are some '12 lease rates.
I'm torn, don't really want the heavier standard power rear sunshade in the '12. But need to pay 1200 in shipping to get the '11 I want.

Yeah, the numbers must not be looking good. My dealer just said it will be about $100 more a month (lease) for a similarly equipped '12 over an '11.

The sunshade is part of the premium package and not standard with the car.

Can't imagine that it would add more than a few pounds (if you see one you'll see it's not really robust), but I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise because it'll likely cause rattles in the future... but didn't really have much of a choice since I wanted premium.

Srsly? A rear power shade that might weigh 5lbs with the motor? Just go on a diet for a month, will help with the weight distribution, too
