i hate you. But congrats!
Um, always good for badass driving... The Heavy - How You Like Me Now Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars (this will definitely get you a ticket) Then you can pretty much play U2's - The Joshua Tree, start to finish at some point. Awesome road trip album. |

Boston - Foreplay/Long Time. Great driving song! Actually just put the whole damn album on there, because Smokin' is also a great driving song.
Not sure what your music preferences are, but I'm all over the place. Gonna include some NIN, Black Crowes, Led Zepplin, Journey, Band of Horses, Mumford and Sons....those will all be playing on my way home from SC! |

Ummmm, Cake's "The Distance" should be the first song you play when you crank it up to leave the Delivery Center...
....engines pumping and thumping in time...The green light flashes, the flags go up...

Dire Straits - "Money For Nothing"
Used to death in the eighties by music shops to demonstrate hi-end hifi installations. Still rocks. ...oh wait, do you here Sting crooning in the intro "I want my M Coupé !" ? |

Dire Straits - "Planet Of New Orleans"
Another cool way to start out with IMHO (exquisite quality sound - ideal for a car hifi demo) "If she was an ace and I was just a jack and the cards were never seen, we could have been the king and the queen." |

Jerry Was a Race Car Driver - Primus
" Jerry was a race car driver And he drove so goddamned fast He never did win no checkered flag But he never did come in last Jerry was a race car driver He'd say "El solo number one" With a bocephus sticker On his 442 he'd light 'em up Just for fun " A strange kind of song,... this one is good for a little head bangin'. |

By the way somewhat off topic, but does anyone else find the premium hifi on the 1M to be a bit artificial-sounding? The 350-watt system on the Civic Si of the past 5 years has *much* more clarity and fidelity. |

True true...for some reason the Cake one has grown on me. It's definitely Cake-y though, not nearly as strong as the original. But if I started listing all the Judas Priest, BS, BOC, Led Zep etc. it'd be a longass list.

How about Meatloaf's "I would do anything for love"?
For me personally, should I be lucky enough to get one of these cars, I plan on blasting U2's "All I want is you" upon my first drive with just me and the 1M. Too bad you didn't get a BSM 1M, because the obvious recommendation then would be AC/DC "Back in Black". |

Lots of great songs listed - but - Golden Earring's classic "Radar Love" has to make the list! A song that will add at least 20mph to whatever speed you're driving!

Earlier today I tested the 2012 remaster of the 1991 "Blue Lines" album of Massive Attack on the Harman Kardon sound system of my 1M:
"Because my 8K rig goes boom boom – My 8K rig goes boom"...

Interesting the type of tunes that people on here like.
I grew up listening to mostly just heavy metal, so this would be a list of my favorite predominately driving oriented songs in no particular order, although metal dominate: I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar Trans Am (Highway Wonderland) - Sammy Hagar Runnin' with the Devil - Van Halen Highway Star - Deep Purple Drivin' Wheel - Foghat Highway to Hell - AC/DC Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh Life in the Fast Lane - The Eagles Smokin' - Boston Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody Souped Up Ford - Rory Gallagher Highway 61 Revisited - Johnny Winter Free Ride - Edgar Winter Rev on the Red Line - Foreigner Rock me Amadeus - Falco Bad Motor Scooter - Montrose Code of the Road - Nils Lofgren Back on the Road Again - REO Speedwagon Big City Nights - Scorpions Rock Bottom - UFO Run Runaway - Slade Run Run Run - Jo Jo Gunne Shakin' - Eddie Money Driver's Seat - Sniff and the Tears Heading Out to the Highway - Judas Priest and what must be an obvious choice: Turbo Lover - Judas Priest

Heaven and Hell, full album from Black Sabbath. If M button pressed on an open highway that's Heaven and if I am in heavy traffic crawling then it is Hell.
When I get sick of it I switch to Balls to the Walls of Accept basically and go back to Black Sabbath after a while. When there is someone else in the car I may put Argus from Wishbone Ash. I have an extra iphone, not using it, still sticking with the CD changer

Also others like Dokken, Dio, Hendrix, Mott the Hoople and Thin Lizzy. I like my music hard driving, fast and a bit loud........like my cars. It's only by God's good grace I even have any hearing remaining at all. Unfortunately, there's not that much in the way of new metal talent out there outside of these pioneer's of metal.
