5mm spacer + bolt question
Did a quick search but came up short,
If i buy 5mm spacers for my front will i need to buy extended bolts or will the OEM bolts work fine for 5mm?

I read somewhere that you need to be able to get 6.5 turns.
Depending on the wheel, you may or may not get 6.5 turns with the stock bolts. I think for OEM wheels, you'll need longer bolts (35mm shank) for your 5mm spacers.

You might want to think about hub extenders too. I needed them with my 5mm spacers to get the OE wheels centered properly.

Will not be using stock wheels but the 6.5 turns theory is interesting,
Thanks for the help guys!

With 5mm spacers, you still have enough threading (with the use of OE lug bolt) to safely secure the wheel onto the hub. Usually it's 8mm (or thicker) spacers that require extended bolts.

I have the longer bolts coming from Turner for 5mm spacers. Based on the HUB measurement on my car, extenders not required. The 12.5mm spacers + 265's are getting a slight bit of rub on the rears.

I remember trying it out on my E46 325Ci back in the day, and I recall 8mm+ is when you need to start considering extended lug bolts for the extra threading.
I can't recall the exact spec, but in any case, usually the thicker spacers come with extended lug bolts when you buy them; or at least the vendor that sells you the spacers will ask if you're aware that you may need longer bolts, etc. |

Are you running 265/30/18 or 265/35/18 or 265/40/18?
