pilot super sport

i need new tires and i read the super sports are better than the PS2. if thats the case then why wouldnt michelin make a size for the M3? and if they are when will they be available? it seems i cant even find ps2s in 265/35/19s. what gives?

ps2s in that size are on national backorder

im running 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 on my zcp and i also have 12 and 15mm spacers and i dont rub at all

pss are definitely better than ps2s especially at extremely high speeds and turns

Because the PSS are new and all of the sizes aren't out yet... and also because they didn't make this tire JUST for the M3

The good news is PSS are reportedly better than PS2s, even though they're a notch below the PS2s: ultra-high-performance summer vs max summer. And they have a tread wear rating of 300, vs 220 for the PS2s. Should be a good tire, but it wouldn't surprise me Michelin is hyping it because it's new . We need independent tests .

The PSS is the same class as the PS2. They are both Max Performance.

The PSS is a significant step up in traction and grip (dry and wet) over the PS2.
Believe the hype.

Don't know where I read that, probably due to their being better in the wet and lasting longer, but Tirerack has them classified as 'Max Performance Summer' indeed. And being a replacement for the PS2, it only makes sense. Thank you for the correction.

I would buy 275/35s in the rear with the PSS way before going OEM size with Continentals. The 275/35 work perfectly in the rear... ideal if you go 255/35 front but still great with a 245/35 front.

Tire Rack had the 265/35-19 PSS in stock when I looked on Friday. You can get a full set in OEM sizes.

i have the PSS's and they're much better at higher speeds.
hitting 165 is a synch and you can take turns much faster.

what i did notice was that the side walls don't take as much pressure while power sliding.

thanks guys, i will call tire rack for the 275 rear and 255 fronts. the consensus is they are a better quality tire and they are substantially less expensive.

They weigh exactly the same according to tirerack but even if it would be negligible.
