I see all these threads about ordering and waiting and I just don't know how you guys do it?? Hats off to you, you order the car however you want it and actually cheaper than how I bought my car off the lot..
I test drove my car on a Thursday and couldn't sleep that night till I bought it on Friday!!! It's not my favorit color (Jet Black with black leather, I'd have ordered SG with rust leather) but it had all the packages that I'd have ordered..MSRP was 72K I got it for 70K (DCT, 19, PS, Conv, Tech, Fold down rears...basically everything but cold and ZCP)..I'm pretty sure I could have saved but I JUST COULD'NT WAIT!! Again hats off

Can't imagine how painful the wait is, I wasn't even trying to buy the M3 hours later I drove it to dinner... |

Euro delivery is even worse! First, you wait until the day you take delivery in Munich. Then, as if the first wait wasn't bad enough, you get to wait again while the car makes its way across the pond. The second waiting period is definitely harder since you've already had a "taste" of your new car.
My M3 is due to arrive in NJ tomorrow. Here's hoping for a speedy transit through customs and VDC so I can be reunited again!

Ugh, the 2012's are even worse than 2011. Order is in, but production doesn't even begin until at least Sept 1! Chances are the car won't be here until somewhere in Nov or Dec.

My M3 has been at the port of exit awaiting a shipping vessel for a few days now. I wonder when she will be on the vessel and which one. I think she should be here by end of August hopefully. This wait is getting worse and worse.

Just fill in the information about the vessel. Your dealership will have the information. -Chris |

The wait is terrible-agreed. I ordered my M3 on February 21st, and I tracked it all the way to the port of exit when I found out that it had been ordered incorrectly by the dealer. Fast forward a couple of months, and my newly ordered M3 is aboard the Mignon; scheduled to arrive in Halifax on 08/10. It will be over 6 months from order to delivery (of the right car), so needless to say, I'm overly anxious and excited at this point.
Congrats to the OP as well; didn't mean to steal your thunder pal! Asif |

The wait for redelivery after an ED is sort of the automotive equivalent of passing a kidney stone. As in excruciating. Having had the experience of driving the car in its element, and then having to be without it for 8+ weeks is really tough. This is my third time, and it's gotten progressively worse each time.
