2012 M3 & Team USA coupon, feasible?

Does anyone know if it's feasible to try to use the Team USA coupon with a 2012 M3?

From what I understand, the $1,000 coupon is only good if you take delivery of the car by Oct 31.

Production on a '12 M3 doesn't even begin until Sept 1. That means you only have 2 months to get the car... assuming that they begin production on the 1st day (which is unlikely).

So here's the question:

Is it worthwhile to take the time off to go to the Team USA event to get your $1,000 coupon in hopes of being able to use it on a 2012 M3 or is there pretty much no chance that the car can get here by Oct 31 so the time is better spent doing more useful stuff - like working?

I say the chance is really slim because production for M3s usually don't start until 3~4 weeks after you place your order, then it's about 4~5 weeks until you can take delivery on the west coast....that's why I didn't want to chance it..and ordered a 2011 instead.

I'm using my Team USA coupon and the loyalty $1000 for an additional $2000 off....SWEET!

All in all..I say go to the event if there's still one in So. Cal....it didn't take long at all.

I didn't want to order a 2011 because I generally sell my car every 4 years. The extra "year" of depreciation will result in more than a $1,000 loss when I sell. The longer you keep your car beyond this, the better it is to grab that $1k up front, instead.

Of course, I'm also gambling another $1,000 because there's no telling if the loyalty discount will be in effect when the 2012 car is ready for pickup either...

Since I'm committed to getting a 2012, it sounds like there's no point in going to that event then.

The loyalty program runs until 01/02/2012 according to Edmunds.com...so you should be in good hands...you just have to be a BMWFS customer within the past 12 months...
