Electric front seats

Trying to decide if ordering electric front seats for my 1M is a good idea or not. Worried about the weight of these, how much extra do they weigh over manuals? Is it a slow process adjusting them to allow a passenger getting in and out the back. Does a BMW M car deserve electric seats, my dealer says so but he would say that wouldn't he?
HK speaker system, is it good value for money and does the whole package also weigh a lot?

Mine weigh a ton. Stock non-powered were reported to be 54 lbs. So, I would guess that my power seats would be at least 60-65lbs.

Do you wish that you went for the non powered ones now?

Nope. I run race seats. I love the heated seats and I love the adjustability of the powered seats. Also the side bolsters on the sport seats adjust, so they aren't bad if you've never known better. I just track a lot so I needed more support.

They are terribly slow for letting people in and out of the back though. Being 6'8", I have to stand and wait a good 30 seconds after picking my car up from valet because I put the seat all the way back lol.

I hate manual seats on a shared car, I'd rather open the car and the seats sort themselves out for the driver. However, if you're the main driver then manual's fine.

In the US the only way you can get the Lumbar Support is in the electric seats. Don't know if it is so there in the UK or not.

I love the manual seats in this car, not only do they sit lower but they give you fast adjustability and letting people out of the back seat is a brisk.

I used to have manual seats but whenever someone else drove my car, I had trouble adjusting them back to find my "perfect" position.

Also, the electric seats allow settings to be saved for two drivers. When I am on a long (hours long) drive, I like to change my position periodically. With the memory I can switch between two different positions that are both comfortable for me.

I want a fast car that is comfortable so I ordered the premium package. I don't know how much heavier the electric seats are, but if I want to increase the HP-to-weight ratio I'll just have to increase HP and leave the weight alone.

I agree. I have a setting for long or relaxed drives and another for"spirited" drives.
