Dinan and Gruppe M are both quality pieces, my vote goes to the tage 2 Intake Charge Kit.

The Macht Schnell kit made very impressive gains, picking up a considerable amount of HP teamed with the MS pulley and Akrapovic exhaust.

While not as flashy as the other carbon units, the Macht Schnell S2 intake simply makes power while giving an OEM+ appearance under the hood with the textured finish.

Be good to know what the Intake makes on it's own w/o the Akra & pully. I just want a no flash charge pipe.

Charge pipe is only half the issue. Here's a comparison of the stock filter flange (left) vs Macht Schnell (right):

Replacing the charge pipe only will not eliminate the bottleneck, thus - minimal gains will be the result. The MS piece also does not have the "accordion" type bend as seen on the stock charge pipe. A less restrictive flange, larger charge pipe and high-flow filter (along with ICS scoops) all work together as a package, resulting in best hp gains - which is why the entire system is included as a kit.

We're using the AngeliBright system (AiB) which replaces the standard H8 angel eye bulbs.

Eurotuner did a review on the AFE kit a short while ago: http://www.eurotuner.com/techarticle...#ixzz1T9OGJwLj

what you guys think?

gain 15 bhp with putting a different filter and pipe in?

The intake area of the M3 is highly efficient, thus you gain an output of 105 bhp/ 1000 ccm

a Porsche GT3 RS (for me na reference) 3.8 including carbon ram air box from stock does 450 bhp which is 118,4 bhp / 1000 cm
the new GT3 RS 4.0 does 500 bhp so 125 / 1000 ccm which is more related to more cylinder capacity.

So for a "road" engine, the M3 is pretty awesome.

see Daimler C63 with 457 bhp coming from 6299 cm.... 72,5 bhp / 1000 ccm

we could make this list long, and you will see, that for naturally aspirated engines the M3 4.0 V8 is TOP

Just put in a GruppeM, fairly easy to install. The sound is fantastic and it looks beautiful. I "think" I can feel some improvement, especially mid-range, but haven't had a chance to Dyno or really wring it out yet.

+1 for Macht Schnell. I paid for what works and not paying for extra glitz and glamour on a part that gets dusty and can't be seen from the outside. Stealth Look is less questions I have to answer

Can somebody tell me what the difference is between the 2 aFe products? The one that costs 1/2 the price apparently has more hp/tq gains..

MS intake alone hasn't been shown to have any hp increase on an independent dyno

I did a baseline dyno and added the MS intake elbow + filter and had gains. I can Post up dyno sheets next week. It was off dynojet with load. Hopefully it can justify I didn't waste "my" money

did you compare the difference between full intake and just filter upgrade? I think you'll see almost all the gain was from filter change alone.

Afe elite intake

Just put the elite afe intake on my 08 E90. It replaced the factory air box with a pretty sick looking setup. The sound alone this intakr makes above 4,000 rpm is worth it alone.

Anybody have any experience with the power pulleys?
