Will any TX Dealers do Euro Delivery close to invoice?

I'm in Austin, and have been shopping around for M3 Sedan: ED + $500 or so and can't seem to find anyone. Best is Austin BMW at ED +$2000, and they won't budge at all. With the price of fuel so high it's not looking economical to go with a guy on the east coast or mid west (only two guys who are reasonable) once you figure in shipping. Anyone have any luck with TX BMW and ED? Thanks in advance.

Can't you have the car delivered directly to your home dealership from ED? I thought the 2 guys on these forums said that that was very possible without added cost, but I could be wrong.

Courtesy delivery is also very difficult in TX from what I'm learning.

I used BMW of Tulsa on mine. Just a thought. Another idea is to do performance delivery ad drive your car home.

Do PCD or just order via David Aviles at eurocarsonline.com

You can save money on shipping by looking for a cheap 1-way ticket to DC (or use miles), then driving back. Gas is not that expensive compared to a transporter. That's what I'm doing.

MatNova,
Even if it would wash out your savings by having to pay to transport the vehicle back to Austin, you would still be better off giving your business to a dealer who is willing to give you their best price (close to invoice like you said) from the get go.

I would highly recommend David Aviles. Go do ED, have a PCD redelivery and drive it home. No need to feed the greedy local dealers. The best I was offered locally was $1000 off MSRP - I just walked out.

Then again, if price of gas is that big of a concern - are you sure you want an M3?

So, to your question - no luck with TX dealer and ED.

I don't understand why there is such a difference though (why TX dealers wont do the deal) They talk out of both sides of their mouths...on the one hand, they say they can't match price to do a good customer service dead, then the guys says he's "gonna get my service business anyway...", essentially a promise to do good service.

I'm starting to think that there is collusion among TX dealers.

Not enough competition. Even here in SA, there's only one dealer. Still, with the costs associated with buying a car elsewhere and either shipping it or taking the time to drive it back, it may not be worth it.
I got the local P-car dealer to match the best deal I got from other TX dealers, figured it would also make it easier to get service loaners from them. I'm sure I could have found a better deal in another part of the country, but it can cost me thousands to take a day off work, didn't seem worth it.

Thanks guys. It's cool to see all the support. I'm happy to help. You get the best pricing and the quickest shipment. I actually flew into Houston to help out a customer get a trade back to Baltimore. It's a fun drive in a V8 powered M3.

I hear the same tune all the time. Won't budge on pricing. Even if you spend a few hundred dollars on shipping, you still come out way ahead with my service. And you don't have to wast any more time. Check out DCC's M3 that arrived to TX on the 6th!

At your service,
David
