2003 Z4 3.0i doors not fully remotely unlocking
Hello everyone. I did some searching but couldn't find anything like my situation.
When I try to lock my doors with the remote key it works fine. But when I try to unlock the doors, the driver door lock only partially comes up (not enough for me to be able to open the door) and if I keep pressing unlock, the passenger door won't come up at all. I figure if it was some kind of pump, the doors wouldn't unlock. I can still open my doors with the key if i insert it in the door and mechanically turn the key but this sucks. Any ideas? |

Sounds like you need to replace your door lock actuators. It's a little electric motor that forces the plunger up and down. I'm not sure if the key slot is mechanically connected to the plunger, or if it's an electric thing that activates the lock.
Gettng the door panel off is easy. Parts are around $70 for the drivers door and $30 for the pass door. |
