o2 simulator ?

Hey, was looking at the dp's on mb's and some have an available o2 simulator as an additional option. What does this allow? Will this just erase the CEL for catless pipes? Or will it also allow me to pass a sniff test for inspections, etc.?

Also, does it just install inside the o2 bungs, or what?

P.S. If I install kittyless dp's without a tune but WITH the o2 simulator, will I still run rich causing performance issues?

Sims just fool the dme into thinking there are cats still on the car. Typically they wire into the wiring harness at the dme. No way it'll pass the sniff test, but won't cause performance issues. Unless more performance is an issue...:-)
