Frozen Black Orders - 06.16.2011

So, who pulled the trigger and got through the phone line? Not many offered, how was your experience, were there any confirmations?

I was helping out one of my friends dialing the number, we had 5 phones between the two of us. I got a busy signal and the other line was bounced to customer service. He had better luck on his 3 lines, each one took his information and gave the classic line, "we will let you know".

Anyone else have a similar experience with the FB or FG?

Garage List
Called at 1130 and was on hold waiting for 45 minutes....then I gave up. I think they should tell people right away if they made the list of the 19s

I'd imagine that most of the cars were lapped up by dealers who'll try to sell them at inflated prices. Check eBay for them.

I remember when the Lambo Revington came out. All cars were "sold" before they were even announced. Afterwards you found them sitting in dealer show rooms. I remember one on eBay that started around 1.8 million and over time (more than a year) worked it's way down to 1.2 million or so. Brand new, sitting in the show room all this time.

The only cool thing about this car is the red stitching in the interior. Anybody can paint their ZCWs, get black tips, black kidneys and flat black vinyl their m3 coupe. Salespeople just laugh at the customers paying top dollar for these thinking they are some sort of investment. The truth is nobody on the secondary market wants this car because after about 5000 miles, it is full of nicks and scratches which are very difficult to repair. If you want an investment, get a 1M...a car that you truly have to have had the right timing to buy with the ability for it to be an "investment". Last run with the frozen gray, a guy had the thing on eBay before we ever received the car at the dealer...so we told him to take a hike. That car sat on the showroom floor and didn't even sell at sticker because everybody knew what a headache that exterior would be. I saw that car a month ago and it's scratched to heck and for sale on auto trader. If you want a unique m3, pay the 5000 for a legit paint job like imola red.

I came very close to doing just this but instead stuck with Melbourne Red metallic.

If I would have wanted an 1M, I would have tried to go individual to get imola. Fortunately, the car didn't make my 'gotta have' list.

--Update, my friend did make the cut and was selected as one of the 19 customers. However, as noted above, it is an expensive car and watching the one on ebay fetch $20K less after 2 months in not an attractive prospect. Other intresting note, is that these cars are already on their way to the US, delivery is mid-July.

Dealers cant purchase these cars to sell, the car must be reserved and ordered by a customer.

Thanks, not sure where this will go. But sometimes that is the best part of the journey.
