berk muffler delete exhaust

I finally got the exhaust installed. First it sounded great. Then I found that at WOT it has some unpleasant monotoned howl. Any idea what I can do about that?
thanks

Either give it 700-1k miles for break in and see if its better or get other parts such as downpipes or a different exhaust.

it was used so no break in is going to help.
will down pipe actually help? i wouldn't think so.

Might change the sound, same with midpipes and etc. Can't know for sure though.

My custom muffler delete has the same type of howl. I was thinking it might be due to the split into 2 the 2 tips. I dont think its very smooth so it creates a whistle. I love the sound from 3-5k rpm though

Didn't some earlier version of the Berk exhaust have the dreaded "french horn" issue. I think you might have one those earlier models.

Earlier versions don't have the "balancing tube" installed between the two tips, search for the thread that compares the old and new side by side.

The whole design is just odd and a bit wasteful from an engineering perspective, and the balancing tube (mini H pipe) is the only way to mitigate the horn resonance. They should have just separated single pipe at the tip location, but instead Berk designed a musical instrument!
