N55 JB3 questions

Alright so I have a couple questions.

1) Is their still only one map for the N55 JB3?

2) Is their any way to change maps on the fly like you can with the procede?

There are lots of maps but they are all the same. You'll use map 1 with the proper boost setting for your octane / DME version. You use a laptop to change the settings.

So I would still stick with map 1 even though I have a FMIC and a Intake?

Also I never got an answer for changing maps on the fly...is this possible?

I think if you email Terry he can send you a custom map with what you need or tell you what variables to change, I know when he installed mine and I told him I have a 4" DP he said he was going to do +4 boost or something due to that. Also you could get it dyno tuned if you want it to be really accurate.

For on the fly, it depends how you define that. I think the only way is to stop the car, turn car off but keep key in the ignition for power then pop your hood and connect the JB3 via USB to your laptop and then you can change it. Close hood and start car.

Well actually I am planning on running the JB3 cord through the firewall into the glovebox. You just need this cable. Then if you placed your JB3 in the ECU box you can run this cord straight to your computer in your car.

At least that is my thought. I guess I will talk to terry about it.

Here are a couple examples of what I am talking about.

And this is the wire you would use to connect to the JB3 control unit.

I know procede you are able to switch maps while sitting at a stop light just by using the cruise control stalk.

That's pretty interesting and not a bad idea at all for those who want to switch tunes alot of the time. But ya your best bet is to just email Terry. He usually replies within 20minutes since they all go to his iphone.

Not with the N55 Stage1. There is no point as all the maps are the same. All the relevent info on the tune and setup is posted here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7992

Well I was actually just thinking about switching from stock to another map. The reason being is that I want to run the car as stock most of the time. I would love the ability to change from stock to map 1 by just pushing a button.
