JUST got news from my dealer after my phone call this morning...

He had NO IDEA as well...

THE NEWS IS...2012 Production...100 more 1M's for OZ...

Gives me 12 months to actually negotiate with a dealer who isn't going to stuff me around this time.

Also gives me a chance to see what tunes are going to come out, what colour looks best in the flesh etc.

Who know Tay, MAYBE they will provide options to the existing car for the 2012 builds, like BLUE or Nappa leather or front parking sensors or CSL or maybe other stuff.... maybe I will buy another one now and replace the M3...

Let's put it into perspective. We are buying a 1 series here, not GT3 RS4.0. 200 cars still sounds damn exclusive to me for a 1 series variant. Am I the only 1M owner who likes what BMW has done???

If I were you guys I wouldn't care if there's 100, 200 or 1000. You bought this car for what it is, and that is that the 1M is one hell of a car. There's a few of us that already have a taste of what the 1M will be like, with 135i's running modified suspension or M3 components, but the 1M is even better!

Drive it, enjoy it and live it! If I had a 1M, I would be one of the guys that keeps it for 20+ years... I plan to do that with my 135i

Surely no-one really believed that the original 100 would be all.

As for affecting resale value, recall the E46 M3 CSL. Only around 20 came into Australia and they instantly lost $$$$$. I know this personally

$260k new. Sold 1 year later <5,000km $150k. I know of one sold recently for $80k.
