N55 issue - Low power, low oil temp
At the end of my commute yesterday, as I was back on surface streets from the highway, I tried to punch it around a corner and noticed a severe lack of power. Further tests showed the car was really weak, and I noticed the oil temp was only about a third up the gauge, rather than just under half where it usually stabilizes. It felt like the turbo wasn't helping at all, only slightly better than when my old N54 went into limp mode.
After letting the car sit a bit I went for another drive, and it was back to operating normally, and also worked fine this morning. I only have 5800 miles so I'm obviously going to have the dealer check it, but I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts. My initial hypothesis was wastegate stuck open. |
