timeframe between on order to start production?

Hey guys,

So i finally received my production number for the car woot! Currently it shows as on order, anyone know how long it takes to go in production? How long it takes from start production to finish production? and how long is the shipping takes to west coast?

The waiting is killing me haha, hope you guys understand. I am counting everyday!!

I stand corrected. The website states "on order" and the 800 number states "scheduled for production". I feel this is 2 different ways of saying the same thing. I just went through this 3 years ago and can't remember the nuances.

I'm in the same boat. I just called BMW NA and spoke with real human being. I placed my order in late April and was told that my order had been approved and was being processed for production. No specific production date yet, however.

Your CA can tell you more precisely when your car will move.
I was lucky to pick an existing order, so mine should be produced
this week. But I feel it for you

My M3 coupe finally started production TODAY. Ordered on 05/09. That's resonable I guess. Of course one of my options is MIA. I ordered ZCP and it's not listed but IS PICTURED. Production is scheduled to be finished 05/26.

What is shown on the website is not always accurate. My CA let me know Monday that my car reached 150 and was beginning production. The website didn't update until today, and it too is missing features I ordered.

From researching on here, it seems that trying to track the car until it gets to the shipyard is a pseudo waste of time since between what your CA can access and what the website tells you, nothing ever seems to gel together.

I'll start getting excited once it hits US soil...

I was advised yesterday that my car is at port of exit awaiting transportation. I do have a VIN from the dealer. Granted, that my car is destined for the Canadian market, but is there a chance it might make the 29th ship?

Your chances are a hell of alot better than mine of making that ship. I don't even have a VIN as my CA is on vacation 'til Tuesday. I'll get it though.

Grr....on another thread, someone mentioned that the boat "Liberty" docks tommorrow and is also US bound. Perhaps you'll make that one.

I'm still not able to check my VIN on the WW site.

Liberty just docked this afternoon (5/30) and leaves tomorrow (5/31). WW website is down. Hopefully they will fix soon

Apparently I'm being loaded or have been loaded onto a ship. I have no Idea which one. I got the info from BMW customer relations. When I plug my VIN into the shipping site there is no record yet. What ships are leaving for the Eastcoast in the near future and what are the timeframes. Thanks
