NEW BMW’S SHOULDN’T GET TO HAVE ALL THE FUN

Get OEM Software & Hardware for Your 2009+ iDrive

We are excited to announce that the New BMW ConnectedDrive features are now available for most BMW models with the new iDrive (CIC) systems.

As many of us know, BMW made an announcement earlier this year that all new vehicles from March 2011 will come with the new feature called ConnectedDrive .

We received a lot of inquiries regarding this feature asking if we are able to offer it to those who don't have a 2011.5 production car.

It was a big and long project and we teamed up with Patrys@BimmerTech who has an extensive experience in programming and coding to get all of these new features available to our customers.

We are proud to announce that we finished the retrofit of the Combox, which gave us the ability to enable ConnectedDrive and the new BMW App (6NR) feature! The BMW App is free and can be downloaded to your phone from the App Store.

These are the features that will be available with the Combox retrofit and ConnectedDrive (6NR) :

  • Web Browser
  • Bluetooth Audio
  • Album Art Covers
  • BMW Apps (Facebook, Twitter, Web Radio)
  • BMW Plugin
  • Video Playback

We need 5 or more people for the GB to happen.

2. How would the car get internet connectivity?

Thanks

I also don't know much about this:
3. Would this ever get reverted back to normal by the dealer if we get our car serviced (for whatever reason)?
4. How long does it take to do one car?

It seem like a lot are interested...is there a price for 10+, etc.?

Guys,

The price depends on the options you choose and on the production date of your car.

For example, the cars that were produced before 10/10 would require a Combox installation first before you can go any further (required to activate BMW Apps/6NR).

Here are the options and you can choose one of the following options in this group buy:

1. 6NR Retrofit

Valid for cars with the Combox and the USB port in the armrest.
The 6NR ConnectedDrive will be enabled and you will be able to use BMW Apps.
For BMW Plugin and Video Playback you will need the new base plate and snap-in adapter for your iPhone
or you can choose Option #2 below.

2. 6NR Retrofit + BMW Plugin and Video Playback via the USB cable

Valid for cars with the Combox and the USB port in the armrest.
Thanks to our unique solution you will be able to use all 6NR features,
including the BMW Plugin and Video playback, over USB cable.
However your AUX port will not work with this option.
The kit consists of OEM parts only and includes activation of the 6NR.

3. Combox Retrofit

Valid for all cars with the latest Navigation system called the CIC (hard disk based).

4. Combox Retrofit + 6NR Retrofit

This option combines options #3 and #1.

5. Combox Retrofit + 6NR Retrofit + BMW Plugin and Video Playback via the USB cable

This option combines options #3 and #2.

4. How long does it take to do one car? - around 2h.

It seem like a lot are interested...is there a price for 10+, etc.?

I have a 2011.5
I have a DVD in Motion so I do not need video playback coding

However, i would like to have BMW Apps. Would this be possible and inexpensive? i do not think there is any hardware that needs to be updating.

Thank you

I'm interested, but I'm wary about losing all of this functionality after a dealer flash. I've had my iDrive flashed twice (once because of an error, and once to get some updated iDrive features). What's your plan for customers that have this happened?

I thought Patrys said that this was avoidable when he was offering Combox retrofits last year...
