Carbon Black M3 - Calgary

Hey guys whats up. Im in the market for a M3. Most likely going to be buying 1 within 2-3 weeks. I went to automax in calgary on friday to look at the Carbon Black M3 they have for sale. Car was very nice. Fair bit of swirl marks in the paint but that can easily be fixed. New Michlen PS2 tires. Has the Ac Schintizer (how ever u spell it ) rear diffuser which im not to keen about but thats a small fix as well. Drove the car, car drives great, car started on a very cold start for not being started in 2 weeks and no engine ticking or anything. 1 previous owner. Cinamin interior 6 spd..roughly 60 000Kms. very nice car. Just curious to if anyone knows any history about this car? or what there thoughts are. the car for pics can be found on Automax's website. Also is there any great M3 groups or clubs that do some nice cruising around or trips in Calgary or Edmonton, Id love to get apart of the comunity once i got a M3

I checked out that car on a boring Sunday afternoon a while back. Too much milage for my liking, too many little paint scuffs on the rear, and the rust on the rear diffuser was bad but the asking price was reasonable. That car has been sitting there almost the whole winter so I'm sure they're itching to sell. GL with the purchase!

ya i did notice the surface rust on the diffuser...that will be going right away. I got a friend of mine who is a very good and detailed body man. He came with me and said on a afternoon me and him (probally mainly him cause i wouldnt know how to use the power buffers lol) could get all the smirls out for a case of beer lol. The car still has a warranty remaining on it till march 30 of next year. Seems like a very nice car. If i do get a loan from the bank tho i will see how low on the price they will go..gonna try and ask for 30 but we will see i guess. Where in the Rocky mountains u from bro

Strange colour combination. Carbon Black and Cinnamon are not E9x M3 colours. Neither are they "standard" individual colours.

One last thing, I'm not so sure it has warranty left because you may not be able to assume that extended warranty it has since it's being sold at a non-BMW dealer. Get that car inspected at BMW and while there get the service history...may be the best $150 you spent!!

Ok, they are selling it for 33K, you can find an 08 M3 for around 50K ish. Are you sure you want to still get an e46?

That's still a huge difference. The E46 will always hold a special reverence and command the associated respect. Most importantly I'm sure it is a blast to drive and own.

The reason I mentioned about e9X M3s were because I thought the OP prefered getting an e90 one but looked at the prices in Alberta (here they are selling an 08 for around 60K ish) and thought he can;t addor them. I wanted just to mentioned that he can get them cheaper as well if he bargains. I got mine from Calgary BMW for almost $10K cheaper than what they were trying to sell it for .

Prince..I hear where ur coming from and its all good. I will post up hopefully sometime next week on how the offer goes. Im trying to get a loan from the bank for a little more than the car is worth so i can change out that ugly rear diffuser and put some rims and tires on, maybe some suspension work. But all i can do for now is druel lol

Glen, our dealers here in Calgary make it very difficult for you to finally get all the clearances to drive the car plus the headaches involved in doing such a buy from the US. I've done it before and it is stressful plus you get hit on the resale of that US car which wipes out any of those initial savings.

Hey Taunto,

If you need help dealing with Calgary BMW to get their e46 M3, let me know. Or just go and talk to Ian, or Matt and tell them Mo with the white M3 sent you. They should be able to hook you up with a deal.
