Cleaning my basement out, many Z4M parts.
Hi folks, I've got a whole bunch of Z4M parts that have just been sitting in my basement, and quite honestly, I'd like to just get rid of them. I usually like to hang on to stock parts incase I sell the vehicle, but I'm never selling my ///M. If I do, it's just going like it is. Anyway, I haven't taken any pictures but would have no problem doing so for serious buyers. As well, I don't want a high price for any of this stuff. I also don't know what the stuff is worth really (if anything), so give me your best offer and it's probably yours lol (shipping might suck though, so keep that in mind). Everything was in perfect working order at time of removal. Let me know if you'd like anything below!! - Z4M stock brakes/calipers/lines/rotors, etc. Rotors and pads are probably cashed (sensor never went off though), fronts were removed with 42k miles on them, and the rears with 44k miles on them. *ALL SOLD* - Z4M stock rear mufflers, 45k miles. *SOLD* - Z4M stock suspension, springs/structs/etc. 46k miles on them. - Z4M stock front chrome grills. - Z4M stock side mirror covers, Imola red. These are in really good condition, no scratches etc. Thanks. Last edited by NickyC; 05-25-2011 at 10:56 AM.. |

Tempted to snag the rotors but I'm curious what the thickness is. Brand new is 28mm. Any chance you could measure them? If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, you can pick up a gauge for less than $20. Would be useful for you in the future too.

Also interested in the rotors if they're above spec (and if Tekmoe doesn't take them first).
Just for reference, BMW starts to replace rotors at: < 26.4mm for Front rotors and < 18.4mm for Rear rotors |

Hi folks, thanks for the interest!
All PMs have been replied to, and shoot, I should have known the rotor thickness would have been a question. I really have no way to measure these things. I have to imagine they'd be cashed with those amount of miles on them though right? I was thinking people would be more interested in the calipers heh. Also, the grills are just the stock ones. PM me or give me an offer on any of this stuff here. Thanks. |

Hah you'll be surprised how long these rotors will last. I'm pretty sure with just normal street driving, these rotors can last well over 60k miles. Cuz I got my car at around 18k miles as a single-owner lease return car and have been romping on the brakes @ the track at Laguna Seca (which is known to kill brakes), and I've just barely worn down the factory fronts =]
The rears take even longer to wear out. |

Wow, good to know about the rotors, thanks. I really don't want to spend the $$$ on one of those measuring thingies as I'd have no use for it after this. If anybody wants to take a shot on them, I'd sell the rotors/lines/calipers/everything for $200 plus shipping. Shipping might be kinda steep however, but I'll go UPS ground to keep it as low as possible. Might be worth it just for the calipers if you'd like to powdercoat them or something, or to keep as spares. Does this sound fair? Thanks.

I'll just throw in my 2 cents:
If you buy a micrometer, you'll be able to use it to measure your current rotors and not have to rely on the dealer or anyone else to tell you about the condition of your brakes. At the very minimum you'll be able to avoid an extra trip to the dealership/indy for a brake inspection. If you're like me, you like to be certain about the condition of your brakes. You can measure the fronts in about 5 seconds without taking the wheel off. It's a useful tool to have for other projects as well. Lastly, it will pay for itself one way or another. I'd imagine it would be $20 to ship the stock rotors, and if they are bad you've wasted $20. If they are good, you can sell them for $100 or more.

Thanks for the info above. Anyway, I went to Autozone today and went ahead and picked up one of these micrometer things while I was there ($30). Hopefully it was a good investment heh. Anyway, I took the readings and here's what I came up with: both fronts are like 26.89mm or a bit more. & both rears are like 19.86mm or a bit more. I say a bit more, because the device seemed to kind of fluctuate plus or minus like .10mm. Above are the lowest numbers recorded. Anyone still interested? I'd sell the micrometer as well if you need it lol (add another $20). Also, these rotors were in perfect working order when I took them off. No vibration/warpage etc. Thanks.
