Trucking Company Transport Bottlenecks

According to my dealer, BMW is experiencing significant transport delays/bottlenecks with their new trucking company in, at a minimum, the southeast US. They switched from Waggoners Trucking a little while ago to save $ and the new company has less trucks. Duh. My '11 E92 arrived in Brunswick 2 weeks ago today and is still waiting for a truck to bring it to my dealer about an 8 hour drive away. Apparently BMW is getting what they paid for. Anyone else experiencing this?

They're freaking charging customers for 'destination', so rather than saving, they're ripping you guys off .

My car was unloaded at Brunswick Saturday and was in the VPC Monday morning. I just received an email from my CA telling me that he will have my car by this weekend. FWIW, my dealer is about 9 hrs away from the port.

But don't feel bad. My car sat in Bremerhaven for THREE WEEKS before it caught a ship.

Make sure you look the car over closely. I was told the same thing...initially...and then finally told what had really happened was the car was damaged in transit and the VPC was repairing it.

The problem is, the dealership does not have to disclose any damages that may have happened during transport. This is totally legal. The only thing you can do is to spend an hour inspecting the car inside out making sure there is nothing that was damaged/repaired. If that doesn't bother you, then forget about it.
Yup...that's what I did.
Found a run in the paint, drivers side door. Overspray in the door well. Piece of trim sticking up. Drivers side door didnt close properly.

Didn't accept it...reordered...from a different dealer.

I heard same thing about the trucking switch and delays getting cars to dealer.
It is always a good to ask for a VPC disclosure report which has to be made by law if your car was repaired. It may be that has to be a certain monetary value of damage reached before the report is filed, not sure though.

2017 BMW / X5M  [9.00]
2009 E92 M3  [10.00]
2004 Yamaha R1  [10.00]
What I heard is that they did not have to file anything below $500.00 in damage. But this is not 100% correct though.

I "believe" BMW NA's policy is 3% of the cars suggested value. If less, they may or may not, inform the dealer.
