Hey would appreciate it if ppl can help me pick out a tire size with the 220 M3 stock rims. What im looking for is a agressive but practical look that CLEARS. I'm not a tire wheel guy that would know what sizes and measurements I should use so can anyone please give me a list of tires that would be good for my stock 220 WHEELS

please people post with ur current setup WITH the stock 220 wheels and if it CLEARS 100% thanks!

OEM sizes 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 and tires are 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 respectively,

I would stay with the same size in the front and change the rear to a 275/35/19 or a 275/30/19. Both fit well. The reason for the upgrade is that the 265/35/19 size is a very odd size and it seems like not many other cars run it other than E9X M3's, thus making the price a lot higher than the more standard 275/35 and 275/30.

I would up-size both the front and rear tires equally (10mm). 255/35/19 in the front and 275/35/19 in the rear. Numerous people have run these sizes on the stock wheels without problems. This is approximately the 10th thread asking this same question....

You want to look at the minimum rim width that the tires you are interested in are designed to accommodate and the revs/mile of the rear tire (primarily for speedo accuracy). This information is all on the Tire Rack site for tires that they sell and should also be available on the specific tire manufacturer's sites.

For example, with PS2's on your 220's, the widest tire you can put on the front is a 255 and the widest tire you can put on the rear is a 285. Assuming your speedo reads fast (like mine), a 275/35 is a much better choice than a 275/30 as it will slow your speedo down by about 1% vs speeding it up by another 3% with the 30 series tire (based on published tire revolutions per mile data).

Your only 2 realistic choices are between 245/275 or 255/275, all 35%s, like stock. I wanted stock sizes, but since I want an ultra-high-performance all-season, nobody makes them in 265, so have no choice but to get 275s. What I'm not sure is if 245 or 255 in the front. With 245s, drag will be less and fuel mileage won't decrease even more, but car would be raised a bit from the rear only, looking even more of a 4x4. And it could also possibly cause issues with the DSC, no? With 255s, the stock stagger and stock stance would be stock, albeit the car would be evenly raised a little. I don't track the car, so don't particularly care about the improved understeer the 255s would provide. Good luck.

There's your answer. 255/275 is what I'd run (both 35%).

285/30 is a bit too short, so 275/30 would be way too short (someone suggested that above).

Thanks man. And since Michelins run a bit wider than usual, it's possible the difference might be smaller than the math suggests. The only problem now is the DWSs are backordered until the end of days, so back to square one. Will try to google another tire dealer, but unless miraculously in stock, it's going to be the same story. Take care.

Sounds good to me. It's the sizes you want. The cost is a bit more than I paid last spring, but I've heard the cost is up as the tires have gotten more popular. It takes a while for the tires to scrub in (up to 800 miles); so, don't be disappointed if they are a little skittish initially.
