Bang for the buck... not sure. What do you want out of it? Obviously the 550i has a bigger price tag.
I love my 335i, but I spend a few hours each day driving and sitting in traffic. For the most part my car is my office. It's a 6mt which gets old real fast when the highway looks more like a f'ing parking lot. Also, the reliability of the 335i is questionable at best. I have had this car for 6 months and have been stranded twice already. One for the HPFP and again for the water pump. My last ride was a 2003 toyota tundra with 175K on the original motor and trans, never left me stranded. However, it's not all bad... The 335i is a blast to drive. With just a tune (choose your flavor) this thing hauls ass. Handling is good, not full on sports car, but very capable. The only other bmw I would consider for my daily driver is the 550i. This is not for lack of talent in the bmw line up, just personal preference. Drove a CPO this afternoon at Crevier bmw. 2008 550i alpine white w/ black interior, sport/premium packages, nav., at, 40K miles. It's a much more comfortable car. The seats are great and the ride is smoother. The v8 in sport mode pulls pretty hard. It was fun driving a NA car with some juice after the last 6 months in the TT. I really liked the car. I'm going back to drive it again tomorrow.

Ha i Have a 535xi 2008. Put a chip and intake in it and beat my friends 08 550i
535 or 550 is HOT.. 335 is a kids car, and Im 5'9 190lbs and I feel crammed in that 3 series. it is FAST, better handling, but to many people have em 5 series is bigger, more grown up, and can be made just as fast. 535 with a m package is the way to go. Twin turbo cant go wrong |
