How often do you change your diff oil?

For those of you who track your M3, how often do you change your diff oil?

Depends on how many track days I do, or planning on doing. If its more then 6, then I will change it out each spring.
I do my tranny fluid once before track season also.

How much time do you spend on the track each track day?

I haven't checked out what diff the M3 is equipped with. If it's mechanical I know it needs to be changed every 5 hours of track time or so, but if it's torque-sensing diff, that's a different maintenance interval. Anyone know what diff the M3's got?

Once a year for me. It is not likely that you will need to change your fluid every 5 hours of track time. People will have varying opinions regarding this. Do what you will feel best with. IMO even changing once a year I am changing fluid that is not ready to be changed.

I got this from a thread a while back, cant remember which one. Castrol SAF XJ is what you are looking for.

I am pretty sure that they do it every 3rd oil change which is the same time as plugs and the manual transmission oil.

Indeed. Because they assume you only drive the car on a street in a very moderate way.

Back in Mustang days I usually had the diff apart after a couple of track days

For those of you who change your own fluids, do you use BMW spec fluids or aftermarket?

Just curious if during the including maintenance if they find out you have fluid other than OEM if they freak out and start voiding warranties.
