Congrats Akash. I cannot wait to see/hear/feel the beast in person. You will definitely need to add some gauges. I'm sure others who have s/c kits installed will chime in as to what needs to be monitored.

Congrats! Finally a local car with the AA kit. We're going to have some good meets this summer.

If you want a nice integrated boost gauge check this out:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=466515

I just installed the version 1 in my car and I'm really impressed with the fit and finish. It looks like it came that way from stock. Plus it's in a location where you can safely glance down at it. It also has a nice peak recall funcation. After your run, you tap the button and it will show the peak boost.

Down the road I'll prob add water temp, afr, and oil pressure.

congrats on the boost.

with respect to gauges, I decided to go with oil pressure, water temp and transmission temp (I have a DCT car and want to keep tabs on it during hard tracking). I thought about monitoring boost, but there's hardly any fluctuation there - people that monitor boost do it primarily for the novelty of it. It's better to watch IATs, in my opinion. My suggestion would be oil pressure, water temp and IAT.

Agreed. I'm sure over time I will look at it less. I installed the gauge to confirm that I was boosting what my kit is advertised at. It's also nice to know that I don't have any vacuum leaks since the gauge also shows vacuum.

i will be up for runs...if you give my car a head start/jump. lol.

btw, on gauges, i am in favor of oil pressure, afr, and boost. sure, boost is often seen as not important, but if you have a leak (boost or vacuum), you really don't wanna be driving around with it for a long time. of course, i would rather have a slight boost leak, which is often not noticed by butt dyno, than an afr in the 13s/14s at wot or an oil pressure drop out of normal range....

lol. true.

i have pics of my set up but that won't help you much since i have an e46. also, the defi bf amber series has been discontinued as far as i know. but you can refer to the pics on gt for my 4-gauge setup.

i can't wait to see your car done!
