Bmw m5 help

I recently purchased a 2008 BMW m5 and I can't seem to figure out how to do the launch control? I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube but can't seem to make it work

on US spec cars the Launch Control is a joke ... sets the RPM to 1500 .... just put the car in M mode with the traction control set to off and the tranny set to the sixth setting. then when the car is completely stopped push the shift leaver (no the paddles) forward and hold it there ... mash the accelerator and you will see the car hold the RPMs at 1500 ... then let go of the shifter and watch your car do nothing .... since the 1500 isn't enough to really benefit from the LC

M5 launch control

Is launch control practical on a car that a working professional may have to cough up to repair.
In Europe after 15 to 20starts the trannies are exploding.
Great feature if your driving for team BMW in touring cars. Tits on a bull for a nature person who has an M5 for fun but not for abuse.
