If you're talking about a retrofit, I'm pretty sure you need the CommBox installed previously in order for this feature to work; could be mistaken but thought I'd read that somewhere.

I read somewhere that this functionality (shown in the video) was being implemented later this MY. Its not possible to retrofit from what I've read, but I'm open to hope lol...

How would they get us to buy new cars unless they kept making sexy new toys on each subsequent release that were not availble to be retrofitted?
Completely off thread, and I will punish myself in advance () I was looking at a Porsche Cayenne yesterday and the salesman (ex BMW guy) told me about a feature on the rear seat entertainment for the X5 that the BMW dealer didn't know about. Dual DVD screens in the headrests instead of the horrible low centre mounted screen. They are now confirming with Germany for me, but it is amazing what can be done if you get past the simple rules and excuses the salesman and service guys are trained to respond with. Eg the rear seat entertainment for a Range Rover Sport is a factory only option and $4000, but if you simply change the headrests from your old car, you can have it for free. The wiring is all in place in every car anyway. All I need to do is find out who the OEM manufaturer is for the BMW headrest screens and save myself a fortune, and get a better entertainment system. And yes, I know, . Sorry.

My wife has that in her X3. I think we've used it a total of a dozen times in the seven years she's had the car.
It certainly does integrated into the car vastly better.
