Just got my oem exhaust done...sounds still stock?

Got the exhaust open an replaced all 4 perferated pipes with strait pipes.
And everyone says "oh its so loud!!" on the forums...but its not even a big deal? Anyone else think this is a waste of time an money? I loved how it sounded SUPER loud without the axle back... And the vibtration in the car.

Just like people say the exhaust is "too loud" without resonators. IMO, the first generation of M3 owners are slightly older and more sensitive to loud exhausts... that'll change as younger buyers get ahold of the car.

When you do a xpipe with no rear cats it will increase the volume by bit.

Take off the axle back and have pipes welded with the tips of your liking. This is done on e39 m5's constantly.

You could cut out the secondary cats. It will make a big difference. Or, as others have suggested, you can look for a replacement axle/cat back system.

Loudness is all in the ear of the beholder. If I didn't have kids, I would have left those cats off the car. It sounded pretty tough, and got plenty of attention.

that's pretty ghetto, man, plus you're now spewing exhaust fumes under your car at stoplights...

That has got to make the whole inside of the car resonate. That doesn't bother you?

Naw not really. It doesnt resonate as much as you think. It vibrates a little tiny bit more. But it gives a sporter feel to everything
