Financing 1M in US

My SA told me that there is no special financial offer from BMWFS for 1M and the lease rate is not available yet.
He also said, in the past, this always has been the case for BMW model with limited availability because BMW knows that the car will sell.

Has anybody heard otherwise?

I have not shopped for a car loan for a while, what is the going rate for car loan these days? Assuming you have excellent credit scores.

and off course, he said that he cannot offer any discount, MSRP only.

Every other 2011 model BMW had very good rates (2.9% for 60 months), so I was expecting similar for the 1M.

Actually, my SA told me that I should expect 5+% rate from BMWFS...I don't know if this is true or not. In fairness, he told me to shop around..

Yes though you'll have to open a checking account. Very low minimum balance is needed to keep the account active so you should be good to go.

Assuming 20K down leaves about 30K in financing over ????months. Expect $700 or more per month plus insurance????? Not a real prospect for anyone earning less than $100 K per year. These are only guesses, but there is more than a grain of truth here.

I'll be financing $40,000 @ 2.49%APR for 72 months.
My payments should be around $600-$700/mo.

I didn't exactly do the math properly but it shouldn't be too much more than that.

I don't plan on selling this car for anything. I'd do 84 Months if I was offered it with a low APR.

Lowest i could get was 8.6% through BMWFS, would probably have got less elsewhere but I'm sure i wouldn't have got anywhere near that 2.49% figure.

Our CA told us the rate would be somewhere around 4.8%. I asked him why was it so high and he told us the same thing. We only financed our 2010 JCW for 2.9% thru MINI Financial and they paid our first 2 payments, because the rate was so good.

I told him if he could lock us in at around 2% we would finance it, but if he couldn't that we would just pay cash for it.

That PenFed is pretty good. I wonder if I should apply for pre-approval on a loan now even though I don't have a lock on the car.

just came in from my dealer and the SA gave me the BMW rates for the 1M.
He said they didnt have any more info on release but did have the rates that will be offered thru BMW.

4.9 60 months
3.9 up to 36 months
5.57 owners choice

not the greatest rates. i found them on BOA for 3.99 60 months and state farm bank had OK rates as well.

who knows if the above will change in the next few months but that is what his print out had and it specifically had a line item for the 1M.

How about different kind of wisdom?

Invest the money conservatively, make between 8-10% profit and pay BMW 3.9% for the loan.

Dilemmas, dilemmas...

Most people would not have a car period if they had to pay cash for it. Only people who are super rich can pay cash for everything. A better criteria to go by would be one's monthly budget. JMO.
