Gintani Exhausts

So guys, I'm debating between a Gintani Race or Sport and had a question for all Gintani owners. How many of you initially went for the Race but decided it was too loud and got a Sport? Or dropped the Race and just went with another company? Watching videos, it looks like the Race version can be loud when you romp on it, but also quieter when you are just slowly cruising.

The fact is I like loud cars (but not annoying loud/mustangs ). I grew up around the race track and I'm used to cars having loud exhausts. Last summer, I removed the back seat in my turbo M3, which caused me to hear the exhaust more in the cabin. I ended up getting annoyed at that so I'm reinstalling my back seats to quiet it down. Does the Gintani cause more of a drone inside the cabin, or just the sound coming from outside. I don't even know if that makes sense. hah.

Thanks for any help,
Mike

The race is what your looking for. Sport sounds cheesy for all that money your spending.

I plan to just do just the axleback for right now. Once I get a supercharger, I will go full exhaust with HFC.

Thanks for the comments guys.

After several months you will get tired of the drone or the loudness of the exhaust. adding additional x pipe will just increase the volume, drone and will get annoying overtime. You will love it in the beggining but i say 3-4 months i usually get tired of the drone and how loud the exhaust will be.

And to top that your always going to be paranoid about cops specially they are behind you cause no matter how hard you try to make the volume low, GINTANI RACE will SCREAM....

but ill say fawk that GET it..

I don't own a Gintani Exhaust let alone on M3 but I have heard this exhaust many times. The Gintani Race has a very nice throaty/growl to it and its loud for an axle back. They really make one of the best (aggressive) looking and well built systems out there with performance in mind.

Don't know how the sport can sound cheesy. I got pulled over with the sport and get asked about the exhaust often. If you like loud though, the race is probably better. Both look great and have a nice tone to them. Very aggressive. Just the other day my friends said they could here me coming from a mile away. Lol.

That depends on how low the volume is lol.

how can you not hear music lol

I really wish I could take a sport for a drive (or drive in one)

I heard it on the dyno and it is indeed loud (which is obvious)

my main concern is drone/will it bother me.

Hence why race isn't even an option for me

but the dual wall tips do look extremely sexy though heh

I have a race exhaust lined up for purchase but I just wanted to ask again to those that have the race. I heard the drone is most noticeable between 1.5k-2.5k. That's actually the rpm I drive to and from work everyday. I don't know if this will cause the inside cabin noise to make me hurt something. Thoughts?

I also have a used sport system that I could purchase, but I would hate to get it then it not be loud enough for me. Most likely I would add some sort of x pipe over the next few months too.

I have the sport with a catless Xpipe and it's fucking loud.....it is the perfect setup for the S65 IMHO....best power gains out of any system (Gintani has proven over and over again on the DYNO to put out the highest numbers)....and drone isn't bad at all...

I have the axle back race, sounds amazing from outside but if I could do it over again I would get a sport just to keep the cabin noise civilized.

Anyone have db readings of the Race & Sport axle-back (no x-pipe) at WOT? It's not a big deal for me here in Colo, but I did trailer the car out to Laguna Seca last year. They have limits that may be a consideration as I would like to think that's not my last trip out there.
