Choosing the most badass exhaust...
Ok guys,
I've been listening to a BMW performance and Active Autowerke's axlebacks now, and Berk videos etc etc. I just can't decide which one to go with. I love the sound of both BWM and AA, but the AA is noticeably louder, and as I live in Florida I just want a mean sounding exhaust. I have a N55 DCT. Any suggestions or comparisons are highly appreciated. I really need to decide soon, getting crazy |

CP-E sounds mean. But loud. Also far too expensive. It does not cost them that much to build trust me. They dont use anything special, and a good exhaust shop can build something for way cheaper.
Seems Berk is the best bang for the buck right now at 750 for midpipe and axle back muffler delete. This will be very loud as well.

^^^Yeah that is why I didn't get it and got the Maddad Whisper instead. I get as many compliments on the exhaust sound as I do on the car...most of my HPDE instructors comment on it almost immediately

AA sounds mean if u want to install just the Axle-back
but i heard that there is a fitment problem in the AA. Meisterchaft Gt is the best sounding exhaust on 135i !

CP-E Might be expensive but its worth every penny. When I drove by some people in a parking lot a mother grabbed and cradled her child out of fear LOL. Its soulds sick.

^^^LMAO...that really made me laugh out loud...I am trying to convince my buddy with a 335i to get that exhaust...it really does sound good...but then again so does the Maddad (gotta keep putting that out there....and it is only $650 for a quality made piece and a great vendor).

i have the Berk midpipe and AA axelback combo. It's loud and I love setting off the alarm of the idiot that parks in the non-parking spot next to me on cold starts.
it also burbles like a 5 y/o sipping on juicey juice. im on an n54 btw. personally, the berk midpipe + street axelback wasn't loud enough. it was more of a WHURRRRRRRRR , BERRRRRRRRRRR kind of sound. don't get me wrong, it sounded great but I wanted something louder and more aggressive. with the AA axelback it sounds like WORRRRRRRRR BOR BO RBO R RORRRRRRRRRRRRRR M WHOARRRRRR. burb burb plub plub just that AA's fitment isn't the best. make sure they sign in blood that it will fit properly. |

hah thanks! glad you can understand. I haven't researched catless DPs yet...because I'm still under warranty? What do you think? I don't know anything about them at this point other than that theyll deliver more power and more sound!

In either case, any rasp should be gone if you go with aftermarket midpipes. I have a few videos on youtube. Look up "dcho87" to see my Berk Street Full exhaust, then Berk Midpipe + AA Axelback combo. |

I have the BMW Performance on my N55 and it is so sick. I have the DCT and the rev-match downshifts are the coolest part. Quiet when you want it to be, but also loud, pops, and crackles when you want it to. I could be on the highway and it is quiet as could be until I lay on the gas, or I could be in the city and it is loud and echoing off buildings and stuff. I get a ton of looks from the exhaust, because it sounds so unique. The best thing about it is its covered by warranty!

The Berk midpipe and axelback are both great pieces in terms of quality and fitment. I kept the Berk midpipe and went with the AA axelback. The AA with the stock mid-pipe should not be as loud or boomy. Instead, it might be slightly raspier. AA has a couple of videos showing their axelback with stock midpipe. |

You want my Riss Racing Cat Back Exhaust for cheap?
Fitment is perfect after getting this installed at a shop. They already adjusted it when putting on my car. The only thing "wrong" is that it is scratched and a few dents (damn mountain-sized speed bumps here) but no holes/gaps and tips are good condition. It's loud. It's uses 3" piping. I haven't experienced drone but some people claim to.
