Ground Clearance- Non-M and M Bumpers
I was wondering if anyone knew what the ground clearance was, from the bottom of the M front bumper to the ground? Same with the stock. Just trying to see if doing this upgrade would make it harder to get up my steep driveway. Thanks in advance!

that's not apples to apples considering the M cars have a different suspension, and possibly taller tires. so the better question is what is the height of the M bumper, which is really hard to measure... but i wouldn't be surprised if you lost a 1/2" with the fangs on the M.

Correct but the only one I know that did the conversion was a pre-facelift bumper, ie not a Si bumper..., forgot his name but the guy with the maldives blue roadster and put up the nice writeup on removing the bumper.

If youre trying to see if you'd scratch up the fangs on the M bumper, the answer is a definite yes. No way around not scratching them around where we live

If you dig the look, then by all means go for it. If you do go for it however, try to get the shop to shave the reflectors off. I really love the euro look on the M bumpers without the fugly orange and red circles

I have done the standard bumper to aerobumper to M-bumper conversion on my car.
The aerobumper is lower than the standard bumper, but not much.. The M-bumper is lower than the aerobumper in the corners, but taller in the middle part.. But hard to say how much it is?? |
