I found another Z4
I posted about a '08 Z4si, got sidetracked and now it's gone, I kinda have the M bug so here's a local '06 on CL, looks promising,
http://reno.craigslist.org/cto/2205572253.html Two questions: what price would you call it a "steal"? And, I've read that "06-'07 had tranny issues, true? thanks |

Also have not heard about the trans issue except the 1-2 gear grind. I had it happen a few times under very hard acceleration but I put stiffer transmission mounts on it and have not had it happen since. Really it was not a big deal since it only rarely happened under full throttle acceleration from 1 to 2.
Be carefull, if you drive an M you may find it hard not to buy one. |

the getrag transmissions on the m's are pretty much bulletproof. like aforementioned, u might be thinking of notchy changes into 2nd gear and the occasional grinding of gears under lateral acceleration. very rare and minor issues and there've been many owners switching tranny mounts, fluid and deleting the cdv to improve matters.
sepang bronze exterior with light sepang and madeira wood trim looks absolutely gorgeous in-person. i'd know cos i passed one up for my interlagos coupe very low miles for an 06 and a good price too. |

The shifts are a bit notchy on the M, especially 1-2 - just need to learn what she likes. I believe the tranny on the Z4M is the same ZF as in the 3.0si and not the Getrag out of the M3.
IMO 27.9 for 17,000 miles, non-nav, non CPO is a pretty good deal but not exactly a steal. Depends on condition and maintenance - if its as immaculate and well maintained as they say it is. See if you can get dealer maintenance records. Good luck!! |

Beautiful color combo. However, unless you are willing to pay $5000 more for it, I'd check out some of the cars in the classifieds. There was one listed in SoCal for $22k; that would easily be worth the flight down. Good luck!
Edit: classifieds as in the for sale section on the forum. |

there were 2 cars locally around me when i bought at the end of the year 2 months ago
both had 27k, both cpo, both non nav, both advertised at 25k, bought mine for a few grand less than that...from a dealer. i'd say if has to sell right away you should be able to get it for no more than 25 and honestly i'd shoot for even better unless you are in love with the color which isn't that common. Tires will be 400$ so calculate that in...
