Rim damage: opinion

So i recently had a tire shop damage my rim. two little "blemishes" the size of a dime. They offered to have a mobile "Dr Wheels" fix it. My rims are the stock OEM 18"

When they do rim repair, i assume they "repaint" the whole wheel?
Am I better off living with it, or can i expect some good results?
Tried finding info on this "Dr Wheels" in LA but didn't have any luck.

Anyone have experience? Advice? Just leave it or have em fix it?

Thanks!

Didn't have experience with "Dr Wheels" but have had similar experience with on-site wheel repair services.

The results far exceeded my expectations. The wheels look like new. There were curb rashes that dug into the aluminum alloy, they sanded the area smoother, used a high quality filler, then blended the paint perfectly on to the repaired surface. Honestly, if I didn't know they actually did some repair work I would have NEVER KNOW.

So far 3+ years later the repair appear as clean as the day the car left the factory. I wouldn't hesitate.

I too had a VERY positive experience with a mobile repair of 3 of 4 of my wheels. A year later they still look great and indistinguishable from new. Definitely exceeded expectations. Wheels were completely refinished and matched the original finish perfectly, at least visually. How well they hold up over time is another question, but then again, the original finish on these wheels ain't so hot in the first place.

did you dent your new rim, are those vmr or advante garde? Mine seem to bend very easy at the lip!! I didn't hit a pot holes or anything! I had to bend it back with a dead blow plastic hammer and check roundness with dial indicator.

If you are in the L.A. I have 2 words for you:

Son Tran

He is the best in SoCal works on many, many high end exotics, celebrity cars, dealerships etc. He even did my BBS ZCP Wheel on my M3. You will be more than pleased and astonished with his work.

Al's Hubcaps (seriously) in Mineola gets decent reviews. I used USA wheels in Fairfield, NJ - they were pretty good with reasonable pricing. But I think the "best" is Wheel Collision in PA - you can ship your wheels to them but it's pricey. I'd only go with them if you had a nasty crack but for anything superficial, both those local guys should be fine.

Ah Thanks!

If I drove to Wheel Collision, do you think they can do it same day? or is it something I have to leave my car there?
