Recommended tint locations....

.....in So.Cal. Can anybody provide me with a few places that perform excellent work as well as tint material recommendations? I'm looking to have 75% tint installed on my AW coupe. Thanks guys!

depends on what material your getting. I just know that Hann is the best (stm) the top end stuff will run you 500 to 600 for a coupe (hyper optic). He also has a cool set up where he can show the different tints and how they work with various variables in place.

Sorry I don't personally do it.

But I know the owner of a local shop who has done all of my BMWs, Mercedes, and Porsches.

I'm not a vendor so I won't go around posting prices etc etc...

but those local to me are more than welcome to send me a PM and I can meet them at the shop

I'm no tint guru or anything... but I have never owned a car without tint so it's not as if I'm new to tints; you can check out the tint on my car :P

If you see an error on it, I'll be surprised, but happy cause then I'll take it back and he'll fix it.
Though I've never seen any problems :P

I have 30% all around and 60% on the windshield

I wish I did 35 or 40% though. 30% can get pretty dark

You get what you pay for. There are $50 tint which last you a month and bring more heat into the car ?

STM have been working with MFest and have great knowledge in tinting BMWs especially the ///Ms. They also carry non-ceramic film which costs less but comes at a disadvantage compared to ceramic.

But rest assure when you go with STM, Hann will take care of you from A to Z and guarantee his works!

What are the advantages/disadvantages of ceramic film?

If you don't get ceramic, carshop in alhambra was advertising 5 windows for $120 last month.

Ceramic is supposed to offer better heat rejection and not effect reception, radio, cellphone.....some varying opinions on this.

Not sure about llumar or formula one, but huper has a bit of a different look. And a 40% huper will not look as dark as a 40% metallic.

Thanks for the insight. I prefer a lighter tint.....much lighter than just about every car on the forum (..i.e...75%-ish). I'm not a big fan of tint (..in fact, while on the job dark tint tends to irritate me). I am only opting for tint to reduce heat a tad, and to shield my rear decklid so that it doesn't fade. My sedan's rear decklid fabric turned a dark purple due to sun fade.

P.S. It is my opinion that ultra-dark tint doesn't work well on AW. I'm sure that most of the AW owner's will disagree however.
