New Coupe Owner. Just saying hello

3 weeks ago the thought of buying another car wasnt even on my mind. in fact, all i could think about was trying to unload the 04 RX8 i'd sadly grown out of for as much as possible, as quickly as possible. After 6 weeks of 0 leads i started looking into dealers that would be interested and found one about 120 miles away outside of Philadelphia. Turns out, the dealer was in possession of an 07 Z4 SI that they had acquired on trade. Long story short... the wheels in my head started to turn... research was conducted, forums were scanned, pictures and reviews combed through and 2 weeks later, the space i finally cleared in my driveway has been filled by yet another bimmer. But wow, what a car!

Its an 07 SI, a shade over 12000 miles on the clock that i managed to walk away with for $23k. I've only been able to spend about 6 hours with the car today, 3 of which were spent driving home very carefully in the rain, so i havent really had a chance to experience it up close and personal or really drive it like i want to but from what i can tell so far, i love it. The rx 8 was a great car and the TT i had before that was fantastic. But this thing... Im in love.

It was already dark out when i got home so no pics today but below are a few shots the dealer posted to their website...

Wasnt crazy about the blacked out wheels but after seeing the car in person, they are starting to grow on me

Congrats! These cars tend to be impulse buys...at least that's what happened to me LOL. I had no intention of getting a new car but as soon as I drove it I knew I had to have it.

That $23K wouldn't be after the trade-in, would it?

I had an RX-8 before the Z4 as well. Fun car, but no comparison really.

I used to have an RX-8 as well. Fun car, but no comparison to the Z4.
the 23k was before the trade. dealer had it advertised for $23995, then $23195. couldnt resist...

have to agree with you on the rx8. great handling car and fun when revd high. but pedestrian under 5000rpm. the coupe makes it feel like a toy...

Thought all the Zeds had those gauges...

Nice car. My Zed was definitely an impulse buy as well as I already had a different car picked out to buy. One test drive is all it took though

The non-Ms have the one above. I like the M ones, how they light up white instead of red. I also like the light up redline.

Someone probably has better pics...this is just what I had on my facebook.

it is silver grey metallic. The SI is a nice car. I will admit that i had my eyes on a sepang bronze M coupe. ended up missing it by about 24 hours. I do notice the the fall off of high end torque in the SI but there's so much available through the rest of the band that its hard to get too upset about it. It definitely wasnt enough of an issue to make me walk away from it. Great car and i'm happy to be part of the club!

thanks for the warm welcome!

ha. no, this one was purchased last week in Virginia. Funny thing though was that looking at pictures of your car was what sold me on the color. Unfortunately, by the time i decided i liked it, it was gone.

Congrats. Nice move from the Mazda. You probably won't have to add oil with this one.
