Cool dinan stage 1

Is any one running the Dinan stage 1 software flash? If so have you had any problems with the dealer giving you a hard time about warranty issues? Ithink that this is a better value for the money than the bmw performance kit.

Dinan claims to cover everything including consequental damages so would you have to take the car to a authorized Dinan dealer?

If you get Dinan and have a CPO, then your CPO will be gone and then car also gets flagged so you can never get extended warranty from any bmw dealership. By flagging I mean Dinan reports the VIN number to BMW NA.

Yeah.. you get the Dinan warranty, and if the car is new you keep the new BMW warranty in conjunction with Dinan's (Dinan will cover what BMW does not cover due to the tune, though BMW should still cover any warranty issue unrelated to the tune). The Dinan warranty mirrors BMW's new car warranty, however it does not cover any extended warranty or CPO warranty.. so if a Dinan component or tune causes or is involved in a warranty issue, you're SOL..

No. You can take your car to any BMW dealer for service. If BMW thinks the problem was caused by the Dinan parts, Dinan will pay for it.

It is true that BMW stopped allowing Dinan modified cars for CPO in 2008. At the same time, Dinan stopped reporting VINs to BMW. But BMW/Dinan dealers still do record it in the BMW system.

Agree with this.

I have Dinan stage 2 software + other mods and have recently done recalls at a BMW dealership. There has also been no issue with scheduled maintenance or HPFP replacement except that if they re-flash the software, the tune is gone. Not a big problem because Dinan offers free re-flashes for the life of the car.
