MS stage 2 intake w/ scoops

I just installed all the bits and peices, just thinking about the scoops now.

Are there any dyno proven results that say these scoops work? I'm guessing you are going to need a pretty powerful fan to push sufficent air into the scoops to simulate 70mph - any thots?

RPI, the original tuner that developed the intake scoops, have dyno tested and proven their scoops to gain power at wind speeds of over 70mph. If you've ever seen their dyno shop, you'd notice their HUGE fans that can simulate these wind speeds...

so to answer your question, yes.

Here are some comparison shots of the Macht Schnell Charge Pipe vs the BMW stock piece. Here you can see where the restriction is virtually eliminated along with the "accordion" style ribs from the stock charge pipe. The included rubber couplers allow for proper engine movement.

Comparison of Upper Intake Charge Pipe (OEM on left, Macht Schnell ICP on right):

Comparison of lower charge pipe (Macht Schnell ICP on left, OEM on right):

The stock airbox is awesome in the M3, but the dyno shows there is definitely some room for improvement for those looking to modify.

Here is a graph that shows Macht Schnell's own test results.

The Macht Schnell Stage II looks pretty good for the money and 10HP gain. Wonder how it sounds?
Think before I pop for this, going to run it past my SA on how mod friendly they intend to be with my car. Don't want to have to remove this every visit.

I would like to know if this equipment will void the car's guarranty. It looks tempting

That would be a question for BMW, essentially - ANY mod can question a warranty if pushed enough.

Paranoia about your M3's warranty with modifications can ruin your overall experience with your M3 - dealers do not have a primary objective to void warranties whenever possible. That being said, most will not question simple filter and/or intake upgrades. When installed, the pieces look very similar to OEM in both color and texturing.

IIRC the MS filter w/o the CP is different than the MS filter w/ the CP. This means if you buy the MS dropin filter w/o the CP, and you decide to buy CP later on...you'll have to buy a new filter from MS.
