Roadtrip to Mfest from tristate area? Anyone?

I've been pondering this for a while and whether or not it would be worth it. I definitely wouldn't go alone (meaning 1 car).

Has anyone made the trip before?

Would anyone consider going?

By Tri-state I assume from your profile you mean NY-NJ-CT. I moved to AZ from CT a few years ago and made the drive a couple of times although not in the Z. You'd be looking at around 40 hrs driving time and if you take the I70/I40 route could catch some Route 66 experience - if you have the time.

I am interested but not sure if I want to drive 40 hours straight from CT (with the Z4MC)

My buddy and I are going to sit down this weekend and discuss making the drive from Detroit to Mfest this year. I know the guys from Fluid Motor Union in Chicago went in the past... I'm sure you wouldn't be the only east-coast/mid-wester going.

Yup, do you have any stops/suggestions for the route other than 66.

I dont know if we would do 40hrs straight, I was think maybe one overnight stop. It would make the trip more enjoyable and safe with everyone being rested.

Anyone else on here ever made a cross country trip from her to NV/CA with some insight?

I just put this together in 5 min:

Hey,

This is all estimating a drive time of 42hrs. This includes gas/food stops.

Plan A - F**K it drive straight through

4/19 - midnight departure
42hr drive with gas/food stops

4/21 - Arrive in Las Vegas, in the afternoon. Check into Hotel, die on hotel bed.

4/22 - Mfest

Plan B - 1 hotel stop

4/20 - midnight departure
21 hr drive.
- Check into hotel late evening (die)

4/21 - 6am departure from hotel
21 hr drive

4/22 - Arrive early am for Mfest

Plan C - 2 hotel stops

4/19 - 6am departure
14hr drive
8pm arrival at hotel (sleep)

4/20 - 6am departure
14hr drive
8pm arrival at hotel (sleep)

4/21 - 6am departutre
14 hr drive
Late Evening arrival in Las Vegas, check in, sleep

4/22 - Mfest
